Known Issues
[edit | edit source]

Question #1: Some indexed records have been attributed to the wrong place. How can I determine the correct death and burial information?
Answer #1: The event place can be checked by viewing the Catalog section containing the film notes. Search the Catalog using the film number included in the record detail page. A list of known problems below provides correct indexing information.

  • Many indexed records from Batch B54740-2 and Film 1533565 have a death place of Vinton County, Ohio. The correct duplicate indexed death records can be found in Ohio, County Death Records, 1840-2001.
  • Many indexed records from Batch B03290-0 have a death place of Connecticut. The correct indexed death records are not found in Connecticut Deaths and Burials, 1772-1934.

Question #2: Some indexed death records found on the Alabama Vital Records CDs are missing. Where can the records be viewed?
Answer #2: FamilySearch respects and strives to adhere to all privacy laws respective to providing access to genealogical records. Therefore, not all indexed records may be available online.
