The City of Bristol is a twin city located directly on the Virginia-Tennessee state line and is located in the Southwestern corner of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Bristol was originally named Sapling Grove by General Evan Shelby, a well-known figure during the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War[1].
