Tools--Photo Restoration with Photoshop Elements
Presenter: Betsy Grovenburg
Class Description Before restoring or cleaning up a photograph for publishing, first one needs to decide how much needs to be done, remembering that the less one does, the less that intervention will be noticed. Watch and learn how to correct the fading that has occurred, correct the scene's lighting (brightness & contrast) since old film was much less sensitive and accurate a reproducer of the original scene as modern film or digital cameras, make the faces as near to their original ("new photo") state, as possible, adjust the print's angle if there is a parallax problem, and finally to remove any blemishes that appear on the photo emulsion (surface) that are distracting to the scene's primary purpose. You will have the opportunity to watch it being done and even try it yourself. This is a ‘hands-on’ experience! Note: Will have a laptop with Photoshop Elements on it for others to try.
