                      SYNOPSIS OF WORKSHOP

Objective: Mothers and their preschool-age (2-5 years) children will enjoy a creative, fun and bonding experience together that instills a love for ancestors at a young age and also provides a learning time for parents.

Mothers have a wonderful opportunity to schedule a time in the Family History Center with their preschool-age (2-5 years) children for a simple and fun family history activity. Family history activities are provided for the children while the moms rotate among themselves to assist the leaders with the children. History related flannel board stories, songs, games, toys, and more will engage the children while their mothers scan pictures, attach stories to their family tree, and research their ancestors. Consultants are available to assist mothers in learning the skills needed to assure they reach their personal family history goal for the time they are in the Center. Other patrons are made aware of the days mothers are invited with their young children to the family history center so they can move their research visit to another day, if they prefer.
