Photo and Memory Scanners

Treasured family photos, documents, and records can now be digitized at the Colorado Springs North Family History Discovery Center, using our Kodak Picture Saver Photo Scanner. These digitized memories can be easily uploaded directly into the Memory section of your FamilySearch.org account with the Kodak WebUploader. This means you can scan 50 photos in one minute and save all your photos or treasured documents, plus upload them to FamilySearch.org from the SP50 Kodak Alaris scanning software. Reservations for the scanner can be made for 1 1/2 hour increments. Please visit the Scanner Reservation Calendar to see when it is available for use.

Record My Story Room

The Colorado Springs North Family History Discovery Center Record My Story Room

is now open for use to record your family's stories. The room has both audio and video recording capabilities. The private and comfortable furnishings provide a quiet, secluded area ideal for recording personal histories. This exciting component of the Colorado Springs North Family History Discovery Center is now open.
A special feature available in the Record My Story Room is a 6-month pilot program called “The Story Booth.” Our Center is one of only a few nation-wide to pilot the program. The Story Booth will be in the Center until mid-February 2016. We feel very blessed to have been selected for the pilot program and hope it will be utilized extensively during the next 6-months.

The Story Booth is a one-on-one interactive interview process. The interview is recorded on camera using the pre-set questions below that correspond with the season of life of the interviewee. We encourage all ages beginning at age 8 to participate in the Story Booth to create a personal time capsule that can be reflected upon through the years and can be passed on to future generations. Once you’ve participated in the Story Booth, your video interview will be e-mailed to you.

The Record My Story Room is available during normal operating hours. Reservations are made by checking the online Record My Story Room Calendar. After you choose a date and time you'd like to reserve, click on "Available." You'll then click on "Reserve Story Room."
