Brief History[edit | edit source]

The area of Dunbarton was originally granted as Gorham's-town in 1735. In 1748, the area was re-granted as Starkstown.  In 1765, the town was incorporated as Dunbarton. The town will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2015.
