Purpose[edit | edit source]

Adding online resources from the Tennessee State Library and Archives and Shelby County Register of Deeds to Tennessee county pages. These resources include marriage, death and divorce indexes.

Project Instructions[edit | edit source]

Part 1: Select County and Review Vital Records Links on Wiki Page[edit | edit source]

1. Select your county by going to the list and adding your name to the name column.

2. Go to the county page in the Wiki.

3. Find the heading "Vital Records".

4. Check to see if the collections being added to the page are listed under the death heading. See below for examples.

Death[edit | edit source]

Divorce[edit | edit source]

5. If they are, go to the next county. If any are missing, go to the next part 2.

Part 2: Add Marriage Link[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the "marriage" heading.

2. Copy the code below.

3. Look at the collections already listed and determine where to place the link, so they are in chronological order. See the example below.

4. Paste the code into the place you selected in step 2.

Part 3: Add the Death Links[edit | edit source]

1. Find the "deaths" heading on the Wiki page.

2. Paste each line of code below for deaths under the heading so it is in chronological order with the other links. You will need to place each one separately so that the links are in chronological order.

Part 5: Check Your Work and Save[edit | edit source]

1. Click "show preview" and check your work.

2. Type "added vital records links" into the summary.

3. Click "save changes".

4. Return to the task list and put the date in the date completed column.
