Instructions[edit | edit source]

Instructions[edit | edit source]

1. Click on the "Task List" link above.

2. Add your name to the task list to sign up for a parish, then click on the link to the parish page.

3. On the parish page, click "Edit source" next to the Census Records heading.

4. Locate the bullet point referring to the 1865 census. (see example below)

  • Note: If you use Ctr+F on your keyboard, you can search the page for "1865" and it will take you straight to that location. (Click here for an example of what the Ctrl+F function does in Google Chrome. It will highlight in yellow/orange every instance of 1865 on the page. Circled in yellow highlight in the example is the search box that appears after you type Ctrl+F)

5. Copy the following code.

**'''1865''' {{RecordSearch|3756102|Norway Census, 1865}} at FamilySearch - [[Norway Census, 1865 - FamilySearch Historical Records|How to Use this Collection]]; index and images

6. Paste the code at the bottom of the 1865 census content on the parish page, but immediately above anything about the 1875 census. (see example below: yellow highlight is the pasted code, red circles indicate the beginning of the 1865 and 1875 sections)

7. Click "Show preview" to make sure that the page looks ok.

8. If there are no broken things on the page, put "added census link" in the Summary box, and click "Save page".

9. Put today's date in the "Date Completed" column of the task list, and continue on to the next parish page in the task list.
