PURPOSE[edit | edit source]

To add the FamilySearch Centers Intro template to the U.S. county pages.  The template reads:

Family History Centers provide one-on-one assistance and free access to premium genealogical websites. In addition, many centers have free how-to genealogy classes. See Family History Centers for more information. Search the online FHC directory for a nearby family history center.

INSTRUCTIONS[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the task list and choose a state to work on and sign your name to the task list.  Click on that state to pull up the county list for the state.

2. Pull up the first county page and go to the Family History Centers section.  You can do this by clicking on the Family History Centers heading in the blue Table of Contents section on the top left of the page.

3.  You will want to check and be sure the template does not already appear on the page (see template wording above).    If it is there, go on to the next county.  If it doesn't, continue on with Step #4.

4.  If template does not appear on page, click on the edit box to add it to the page.

7.  Then just drop your cursor down to the Edit Summary Box at the bottom of the page and enter the words "added fhc template"  in the box and then save your work.

8.  After you have saved your work, be sure to go back to the Family History Center section on the page and make sure the paragraph is under the heading and looks like it should.  Once you see it and it looks right, you are ready to move on to the next county.   If it doesn't look right, click on the edit box again and look to make sure you have the two brackets {{ directly in front of your words and the two brackets }} directly behind your words with no spaces in between. Copying and leaving off a bracket is the most common mistake.
