Adding information to the Maps heading on the county page

EXAMPLE:

Step 1: Review the info in the Maps Heading[edit | edit source]

1. If you find there are already links listed under the Maps and Gazetteers heading, make sure they are under the Intro template listed.
2. Next, make sure the map image is directly under the Intro template. Move it if necessary.

Step 2: Reformat info already listed in the Maps Heading[edit | edit source]

1. If there are links listed to maps in the heading, place them in correct order and conform the links to look like the following :

  • Map of Kansas: Interactive Formation Boundary Map of Kansas - Interactive map showing boundary changes for Kansas Counties by year
  • Maps of NAME OF COUNTY: (replace NAME OF COUNTY with the county name you are working on)
    • [URL LINK NAME] - WEBSITE NAME AND ANY DESCRIPTION
    • [URL LINK NAME] - WEBSITE NAME AND ANY DESCRIPTION

2. Regarding the link, Interactive Formation Boundary Map of Kansas - if it is already on the page, make sure the description matches the above and change it as necessary.

Step 3: Add Additional info to Maps Heading[edit | edit source]

Go to the following websites and find links for the specific county

1. Copy and paste only the wikitext for the links not already listed under the Maps heading for the county.

KANSAS HISTORICAL SOCIETY:[edit | edit source]

1. For the link for Kansas Historical Society, first go to this url
2. Select your county from the map.
3. Scroll all the wsay down the page until you get to "Type of Material" on the left hand side of the page.
4. Click on "Maps"
5. Copy the URL of the page and paste it into the link listed above for above titled, Kansas Historical Society.

Step 3: Save the Page[edit | edit source]

1. Preview the page by clicking on Show Preview at the bottom of the page. Check your work to make sure it looks like it should. Make any necessary adjustments.

2. In the Summary field, enter "added map links" and save the page.

3. You are now done with the task. Go to the next County on your list.
