Hughes County Historical Society
Along with the museum portion that has interesting displays of how life was in former days, the Hughes County Historical Society has a good Oklahoma genealogy collection. The Grace M. Pickens Public Library in Holdenville no longer has a genealogy section (including obituaries) – all this was moved to this museum. The museum also holds unique Native American papers relating to the Five Civilized Tribes (and Delawares) removed to Indian Territory.[1][2]
