I Found the Person I Was Looking For, What Now?[edit | edit source]

  • Add any new information to your records
  • Search for the death record or certificate
  • Search for a cemetery record
  • With the names of relatives found in the obituary, search for the family in census records
  • Look for a probate record for the deceased person

I Can’t Find the Person I’m Looking For, What Now?[edit | edit source]

  • If your ancestor does not have a common name, collect entries for every person who has the same surname. This list can help you find possible relatives
  • Search for records in nearby towns
  • Try different spellings of your ancestor’s name
