What is in This Collection?[edit | edit source]

The collection consists of images of baptisms, marriages, and deaths from the Diocese of Caltanissetta (Diocesi di Caltanissetta), Italy. It also includes confirmations (cresime); and marriage supplemental documents (processetti). Availability of records is largely dependent on time period and locality. The collection covers the years 1539 to 1929.

Image Visibility[edit | edit source]

Whenever possible FamilySearch makes images and indexes available for all users. However, rights to view these data are limited by contract and subject to change. Because of this there may be limitations on where and how images and indexes are available or who can see them. Please be aware some collections consist only of partial information indexed from the records and do not contain any images.

For additional information about image restrictions see Restrictions for Viewing Images in FamilySearch Historical Record Collections.

How Do I Search This Collection?[edit | edit source]

View Images in the Collection by visiting the Browser Page:
⇒Select the "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒Select the "Tipo de Registro" which takes you to the images.

Look at the image and compare the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine if the image relates to them. You may need to look at several images and compare the information about the individuals listed in those images to your ancestors to make this determination.

When searching: As you are searching it is helpful to know such information as your ancestor's given name and surname, some identifying information such as residence, age, and family relationships. Remember that there may be more than one person in the records with the same name as your ancestor and that your ancestor may have used nicknames or different names at different times.
