NOTE: Maine was a part of the state of Massachusetts until 1820. The offical designation from October 25, 1780 to March 15, 1820 was the District of Maine, when Maine was admitted to the Union as the 23rd state. Prior to the American Revolution Maine was part of the British province of Massachusetts Bay, British Colonial America.

Question: There are 494 records in this collection where the event place is identified as Somerset, Maryland.
Answer: These records are actually from the Reformed Dutch Church, Bedminster, Somerset, New Jersey. They are from film 883757 item 13, DGS 7896982.

Question: This collection contains records from the Moravian Church in Graceham, Frederick, Maryland.
Answer: Indexed records from several other localities have inadvertently been included in this collection. The table below shows the localities and the number of records. These records were found on the same microfilms as those containing the records for Maine.
