  • At the beginning of the seventeenth century, the lands included in the current location of the commune of Olivar were handed over to the Dominicans by Governor Alonso García Ramón.
  • Olivar was officially organized in 1846.
  • The southern, eastern, and western limits would be changed in 1927 and a commune was designated.
  • The commune of Olivar has a population of approximately 13,500 people.[1].
