  • The origin of this town dates back to the year 1890, when after the division of the Varela brothers' stay, Pastor Daniel Armand Ugón of Colonia Valdense began with efforts to arm a group of future Waldensian settlers, who they came mostly from the Piedmont of northern Italy. These settlers arrived in the area on August 1, 1890, date that is officially accepted for the foundation of the town. [1]
