Pautah County, California Genealogy
Pautah County was created on 3 May 1852 by California in anticipation that the area would be taken from Utah territory and given to California. It was located north of Lake Tahoe which is within present day Nevada. The land was never ceded to California, so the never-organized county was abolished by California on 8 April 1859.
