How to order films from the Granite Mountain Record Vault to the Family History Library[edit | edit source]

Not all microfilms listed in the FamilySearch Catalog are stored at the Family History Library. Some microfilms are stored in the Granite Mountain Records Vault. Catalog entries for vault films contain the word, Vault above their film numbers.

In order to view these microfilms at the library, you must order them from the vault. Microfilms listed in the catalog as "Vault" microfilms need to be requested and may take up to three days to retrieve. For larger vault film requests of 15 or more microfilms, please give at least one week notice. Visiting groups requesting 30 or more microfilms need to give at least two weeks’ notice. The microfilms may then be picked up in the Library corresponding to their collection designation. For example, an international film can be located on the B1 International Floor of the Library.

To order a microfilm to the Family History Library, use this form.

NOTE: As of September 8, 2017, microfilm ordering to family history centers has been discontinued. Microfilms can only be ordered to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
