Brief History[edit | edit source]

Sabattus was first incorporated from part of Lisbon, Androscoggin County, Maine Genealogy in 1840 as the town of Webster. The name Webster was changed in 1971 to Sabattus. Part was set off to Lisbon in 1847; part to Lewiston in 1852; part of Lisbon was annexed in 1863; parts of Litchfield and Wales were annexed in 1867; and parts of Lewiston and Greene were annexed in 1895.[1]
