Question 3[edit | edit source]

Question 3: Is Ciudad Real the correct Provincia for Montearagón?
Answer 3: The correct Provincia for Montearagón is Toledo, not Ciudad Real. The records located at Ciudad Real > Montearagón should be relocated to Toledo > Montearagón.

Question 4[edit | edit source]

Question 4: Is Ciudad Real the correct Provincia for Chillón?
Answer 4: Yes, however, specific to the Catastro del Marqués de la Ensenada : Chillón is considered to be in Córdoba. Please read the following translated notes from our Catalog (Keyword search using Chillón, Spain): Microfilm of manuscripts in the Municipal Archives of the city of Cordoba. Census of the farms taken under the direction of the Marquis de la Ensenada, Don Zenon de Somodevilla. The town of Chillon does not exist in the province of Córdoba today. In 1849, the town of Chillon, which is located on the provincial boundaries, appears as a village in the province of Ciudad Real. It may well be the same town, if the provincial boundary had not changed.

Question 5[edit | edit source]

Question 5: When searching Spain,Catastro de Ensenada, 1749-1756 > Jaén > Baeza, I found that 454 records are missing between Vol. 7624 and Vol. 7625. Jumps from record #1108 to #1564. Can they be found? Filmed? And added?

Answer 5: When checking the microfilm #1458754, the records #1109 to #1563 (454 records) are missing between Volume 7624 and Volume 7625. It is unlikely they were in the original volumes because we go from volume 53 to volume 54 and the missing pages are right in between and the last image from volume 53 is clearly the end of the book. It is likely these missing numbers were not in existence when the volume numbering occurred. Not likely in existence at the archive.
