The village Selling St Mary is an Ancient Parish in the Diocese of Canterbury and civil parish is part of the Selling is to with Throwley Sheldwich with Badlesmere group of churches. The church dates from the 12th century and was extended in the south 14th and 15th centuries and was restored by R. C.
