Brief History[edit | edit source]

Thetford was granted its charter on August 12, 1761. The town consists of six villages; East Thetford, North Thetford, Thetford Hill, Thetford Center, Rices Mills and Post Mills. The town office is in Thetford Center. Thetford has an unusual distinction: the six different post offices established there are all still in service. [1]  [2]
