Chapelry History[edit | edit source]

Toxteth Park was originally an extra-parochial district possessing at least eight chapels of ease--of which St Thomas' was one. St Thomas was originally created a chapel if ease and stood within the parish boundary of St Nicholas Liverpool. It was built in 1817; dedicated in 1818; and became an ecclesiastical parish created in 1898 from Walton on the Hill.
