I began researching my family history in 2002. Nearly all my family lines are from southern England. I have one ggg grandmother from County Kerry in Ireland and one ggg grandfather from Scotland, whose birthplace is currently unknown. I have most experience of the records in the English counties of Devon and Berkshire. I also have a special interest in genetic genealogy. I am the group administrator of four DNA projects at Family Tree DNA and co-administrator of a further two DNA projects.

DNA and Social Networking: Genealogy in the Twenty-First Century published by the History Press in November 2011.

The Surnames Handbook: A Guide to Family Name Research in the 21st Century published by The History Press in October 2012.

I have written a number of articles for the UK journal Family History Monthly and contributed articles to various family history society journals.
