Education[edit | edit source]

In December 2014, Robert earned his bachelor of arts in family history-genealogy from Brigham Young University. While in school, he took several courses in American and English research; introductory courses in Scandinavian, German, French, and Italian research; as well as handwriting and document courses for English and Scandinavian records.

Family History Experience[edit | edit source]

Since he was young, Robert has been deeply interested in family history. His aunt and uncle, also genealogists, sparked his interest in the field by sharing their research and family stories. Robert's parents fostered his love for family history by taking him to places where his ancestors lived, sharing the family stories they knew, and giving him opportunities to research and learn.

Robert mostly researches in the United States (all regions and time periods), and particularly loves Midwestern research; he has also done considerable research in England. In addition to his experience in the United States and England, he has some research experience in Wales, Sweden, Denmark, and Italy.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Robert's childhood years were spent in Utah before he and his family moved to Northern Illinois where he went to middle and high school. His family moved to the Kansas City, Missouri, area while he was serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Idaho Pocatello Mission. After completing his mission, Robert attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, from which he graduated in December 2014. Family history is Robert's passion, but besides researching he loves to study history and go hiking, canoeing, or camping when he has the chance.
