REFRESHER on "making image maps"
- Detailed instructions are provided in Help:Wiki University Wikitext--Image Maps.
- Use this page for clickable maps training using Australia instead of Delaware.
- Start with a Map of Australia without territory link parameters.
Reminder: Any image used in Wiki must not have copyright issues and must be free from copyright restrictions; i.e. one that can be freely used.
- Build the wikitext code using "Online Image Map Editor".
- select a source
- define coordinates (Coords) for the polygon
- define Href (internal link to page name) and Alt (tool tip name)
- generate wikitext code (HTML)
- Place the wikitext code into sandbox.
- Modify the code by removing the 'external' portion of the image link.
- If results of code is as expected, create a template and copy code from sandbox to template.
- Add a category below all wikitext coding, then save the template: <noinclude>[[Category:Image map templates]]</noinclude>
