Known Issues[edit | edit source]

Question 1[edit | edit source]

Question 1: Some of the images are out of focus, faint or dark and difficult to read. Some images are so dark the screen appears to be black. Can we get better images?
Answer 1: Some of the images in the Vermont Vital Records, 1760-1954 collection are difficult to read. This is due to the original scanning of the documents which was done prior to current technologies which allow for improvement of images after the original scanning is complete. The film of the original records which has better quality images can be ordered and viewed in a local Family History Center. To order the microfilm see: Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche.

Question 2[edit | edit source]

Question 2: Some records are linked to the wrong images. How can the correct image be found?
Answer 2: It is possible to find records which have been linked incorrectly. The index cards in this record are in alphabetical order. When a link is broken or mismatched a possible workaround would be to search for a name which is very similar. The resulting displayed image should be in the general alphabetical area of the original search. Then move forward or backward using the arrows to find the correct image.

Question 3[edit | edit source]

Question 3: Some of the Digital Folder Numbers are missing from the browse area. Are the missing records available?
Answer 3: Not all records from this collection have been indexed. As the records become available they will be added and those folder numbers added.
