Brief History[edit | edit source]

Westfield was chartered on May 15, 1780 by the Vermont Legislature. It is the least densely populated town in the county of Orleans. The town was named after Rhode Island general and politician, William West, a supporter of Vermont statehood. The population was 536 at the 2010 US census.  [1]   [2]
