The 27th Regiment, Missouri Infantry (Union) was organized at St. Louis, Mo., September 2, 1862, to January 8, 1863.&nbsp;Their last assignment was with the 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 15th Army Corps, Army of the Tennessee, to June, 1865.<ref name="cwss">National Park Service, [https://www.nps.gov/civilwar/soldiers-and-sailors-database.htm The Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System] (accessed 4 January 2011).</ref> 

27th Regiment, Volunteer Missouri Infantry was enrolled between 12 August 1861 and 25 September 1862. They were ordered into service between 9 September 1861 and 7 January 1863.  The Regiment was discharged between 10 June 1865 and 18 July 1865. The Colonel in charge was Thomas Curley. <ref name="weant">Kenneth E.
