Adding online military resources from the Alabama societies, archives and libraries to Alabama county pages.

Project Instructions[edit | edit source]

Part 1: Choose Your County[edit | edit source]

1. Select your county by going to the task list and adding your name to the name column.

2. Go to the county page in the Wiki.

Part 2: Add Civil War Link[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the "Military Records" heading and find the "Civil War" subheading.

2. Check to see if the collections below are already listed. If they are, go back to Part 1. If they are not, continue to step 3. See example below.

3. Determine where to place the link on the page. It needs to be in chronological order by coverage year and alphabetical order by repository after FamilySearch. See example below.

4. Copy and paste the code below onto the Wiki page. Continue to part 3.

Part 3: Add World War I Links[edit | edit source]

1. Find the "World War I" heading below the Civil War links.

2. Check to see if the links are already added. See example below.

3. If both links are already on the Wiki pages. Continue to part 4. If either link is missing, continue to step 4.

4. Determine where to place the link(s). They need to be in chronological order and then alphabetical by repository after FamilySearch. See the screenshot below for example.

5. Copy and paste the code below. Add only the links that are not on the page.

1. Find the "World Ward II" subheading below the World Ward I links.

2. Check to see if the link is already on the page. See example below.

3. If the link is already on the Wiki page, go to Part 1. If it is not on the Wiki page, continue to step 4.

4. Determine where to place the link. They need to be in chronological order and then alphabetical by repository after FamilySearch. See the screenshot below for example.
