History

  • Originally, it was inhabited by the Picunches. When the Spaniards came to the area, they called it La Cabrería.
  • In 1912 the area was incorporated into the Board of Neighbors of Llallauquén, but six years later the building where the Municipality of Llallauquén was set on fire.
  • In 1928 the Commune of Las Cabras was created.
  • The commune of La Cabras has a population of approximately 53,300 people.[1].
