Brief History[edit | edit source]

Mechanic Falls was first organized as part of Bakerstown Plantation in 1765; which became the Town of Poland, Maine in 1795; Poland set off land to form Minot in 1802; in 1893 part of the Town of Poland, and part of Minot were used for form the Town of Mechanic Falls, Maine.[1] [2]

County boundary changes: Androscoggin County was set off from Cumberland County in 1854.[1]
