Chapelry History[edit | edit source]
Mellor-Brook is a hamlet lying partly in the township and formerly of the chapelry of Mellor and partly in Balderstone, and was constituted in 1836 as a district chapelry, laying within the parish, union, and Lower division of the hundred, of Blackburn, N. division of the county of Lancaster, 4½ miles northwest from Blackburn. Part of the ecclesiastical district of Mellor-Brook is within the district chapelry of Mellor.[1]
