Open Hours:

Due to current health concerns, as of March 14, 2020 the Family History Center is closed. The Center will open when the Memphis Temple resumes normal operations.

  • Sunday: closed
  • Monday: closed
  • Tuesday: 9:00 am - noon and 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 9:00 am - noon and 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Thursday: 9:00 am - noon and 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Friday: closed
  • Saturday: 9:00 am - noon
    • Open 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturdays of the month per schedule; 5th Saturday of the month is scheduled closed but is available by appointment

Holiday Schedule:

Closed all major holidays:

  • Independence Day: July 4, 2020
  • Thanksgiving week:
  • Christmas/New Year: December 24, 2020 - January 1, 2021

Closed for General Conference:

  • first weekend in April
  • first weekend in October

Other closures:

  • any day Shelby County or Memphis City Schools are closed for weather (aka snow days)
  • severe weather that makes travel dangerous (e.g., severe thunderstorm, tornado warning, flooding)

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
  • Please note that premium websites must be accessed through the Portal, not directly. To access these websites directly you must have an account with them.
