Local Criminal Rosters (Jun-kwa Kirok)[edit | edit source]
Research Use: Criminal rosters identify the names and residences of individuals who are not likely to appear in genealogies or other sources because their antisocial behavior violated Confucian ethics and, thus, required censure.
Record Type: Lists of criminals and escapees.
Time Period: 1800 to 1910.
Contents: Name, residence, and, in some cases, name of custodian of criminal's property arranged by locality.
